Anaireseis: the Project invites creators & artists to participate in an Anti-War Art Tribute

War: a word firmly embedded in our everyday vocabulary; its horrors lay in the foreground on our screens. Humanity is facing a new “era of wars”, aiming to redistribute wealth among the world’s powerful. On the one hand, Israel’s murderous attack on Gaza, that wishes to destroy the Palestinian resistance and annihilate the “damned” of the Middle East once and for all. On the other hand, the war in Ukraine which has been going on for two years and the disturbances in the whole south-eastern Mediterranean area, with the constant threat of a potential heated exchange. Local conflicts that can potentially form a microcosm of a world war, with a high risk of spreading to every corner of the planet. A war that is waged in the actual war zone, but also permeates different aspects of human life, taking for example the form of the “economic war” or sometimes the “propaganda war”, the information control.

In a period when the public discourse is dominated by the peroration and argumentation of the powerful, in defense of the necessity of war conflicts, as Anaireseis (Greek for Refutations) we take the initiative to provide space to another perspective. We seek to interact with artists and creators in relation to their view of the war, our opposition to it, searching for a window beyond it. We urge you to participate with your works, around the above issues or any of their extensions, with the aim of creating an anti-war art tribute. Entries can take the form of text, poetry, film, poster, comic, music, art zine; any form of artwork, or even an interactive workshop or visual intervention and performance.

You can submit your entries by Sunday, February 11 (via e-mail to anaireseis@gmail.com) together with contact details (name/nickname, tel. number or/and social media, [optional] capacity/status) and a short description or a few words that you would like to accompany the work, without this being mandatory).

Please note:

◾Entries can be in any form the creator deems appropriate.

◾Each creator can submit up to 3 works and his/her/their name (or nickname).

◾Submissions related to the above topics will be considered. Submissions that include any form of hate speech will be ignored.
